2011 was a rough year for me.
I was laid off from a job in early January with the promise that I would be called back by the end of February. That never happened, and I spent a full 5 months being unemployed, struggling to keep the lights and phone turned on so I could look for work as I slipped further and further behind on everything. I know it’s been a while since my last post, and I’d like to assure the [few] people who read this that I’m still alive, I still have projects in the works, and I’ve just been really busy.
I started a new job a few weeks ago (after 5 months of unemployment), and that has been sucking up most of my energy recently. It’s kind of a good news/bad news deal, honestly. The good (awesome, even) news is that I absolutely LOVE my new job. The bad news is that I wake up around 7 am every day now, and by the time I get home at 5:30 or so, I’m already too worn out to knock out a 500-1000 word post. Continue reading
